Rural Bank Act
Noong Hunyo 1952, sa pangunguna ni Senador Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez, Sr., isinabatas ng Philippine Congress ang Rural Bank Act (RA 720) at nilagdaan ito ni Presidente Elpidio Quirino. Ang batas na ito ang naging daan upang magkaroon ng mga rural banks, na naglayong magbigay ng tulong-pinansiyal sa mga maliliit na negosyanteng nasa labas ng lungsod at hindi naaabot ng serbisyo ng mga regular na mga bangko.
Sa bisa ng RA 720, itinaguyod ang Bangko ng Kabuhayan bilang Rodriguez Rural Bank noong ika-12 ng Nobyembre 1952. Ito ang kauna-unahang rural bank sa buong Pilipinas. Binuksan ang unang tanggapan nito noong ika-11 ng Disyembre 1952.
